What is defoaming agent?

A Defoaming agent (iSuoChem® defoamer) or an anti-foaming agent, is a special chemical additives that reduces and stops foam from forming in liquids used in industrial processes. 

People often use the terms "anti-foam agent" and "defoamer" interchangeably. To be precise, defoamers get rid of existing foam, while anti-foamers stop new foam from forming. 

Some common substances used for this purpose include oils that don't mix with water, types of silicone, specific alcohols, stearates, and glycols. This substance is added to prevent foam from forming or to get rid of foam that's already there.
