Triglycol Dioctate has excellent plasticizing properties, excellent low and high temperature resistance, oil resistance, UV radiation resistance, durability and good antistatic properties.
 
Is Triglycol Dioctate soluble in water?
Triglycol Dioctate has low solubility in water, but quite good solubility in most organic solvents.
 
What is Triglycol Dioctate used for?
1. Triglycol Dioctate is a solvent-based and cold-resistant plasticizer. It is specially applied to polyvinyl butyral (PVB) safety glass and synthetic rubber. 
2.  Cause its low-volatility, Triglycol Dioctate makes things more flexible, especially in the cold.  This type of plasticizer can be well applied to PVC, PS, ethyl cellulose, nitrocellulose and other aldehyde-based materials.
3. Triglycol Dioctate is also well applied to polyester fabrics, adhesives, sealing materials, and coatings with castor oil and polyvinyl butyral. 
Plus, Triglycol Dioctate is well suitable for formulations for butadiene-acrylonitrile oil-resistant synthetic rubber and polyethylene latex paints, often in lower quantities compared to dioctyl phthalate (Plasticizer DOP) or tricresyl phosphate (Plasticizer TCP). It's soluble in many organic solvents, but it remains insoluble in mineral oil.
