Natural Rubber Derivatives
Chlorinated rubber is a natural rubber derivative, which is the product of chlorination after depolymerization of natural rubber. The rubber produced by dissolving the masticated natural rubber (or polyisoprene rubber) in carbon tetrachloride or dichloroethane solvent and introducing chlorine gas. The chlorine content is between 40% and 65%. The higher the chlorine content, the better the chemical stability. The pure product is an odorless, tasteless and non-toxic white powder with a relative density of 1.43. The industrial product is slightly yellow, and the relative density is 1.5~1.7. It softens and decomposes at 135~140℃. Good resistance to various reagents. When the chlorine content is 40 to 45%, it is sticky and soft, but unstable. When the chlorine content of Chemicalbook is 50-54%, it is a relatively hard solid and is still unstable. When the chlorine content reaches 54-65%, the stability is better. Soluble in benzene, mixed xylene, naphtha, carbon disulfide, ethyl acetate, tetralin, etc., insoluble in water, alcohol and petroleum hydrocarbon solvents. Chlorinated rubber is resistant to acid and alkali, and has excellent insulation and mildew resistance. Chlorinated rubbers with different solution viscosities are obtained according to the degree of depolymerization. When used as a coating, its viscosity is 10-200 mPa·s. The higher the viscosity, the better the weather resistance, gloss retention and stability, but the coating operation is difficult. Chlorinated rubber can be used to make coatings, anti-corrosion materials, etc.

iSuoChem Chlorinated Rubber(See more details, click the left key words) has a good resistance to chemicals and atmosphere and good compatibility with many resins and plasticizers. Our SR series is suitable for many industrial fields, such as anti-corrosion paint, ship paint, road marking paint, fireproof paint, metal, paper or fabric coatings, rubber product adhesives, adhesives and high-performance rubber products, etc.
