(1) Oil type connecting material
The oil-type binder is refined from dry vegetable oil and can be divided into two types: polymerized oil and oxidized oil.
1. Polymerized oil is an important binder used in the ink manufacturing industry for a long time. In the past, most letterpress and lithographic inks were formulated with polymer oils.
2. Oxidized oil is made by oxidizing and polymerizing dry vegetable oil by blowing into air under heating. Mainly used to prepare engraving gravure printing ink.
(2) Resin type connecting material
Resin type binders are mainly made of synthetic resins, dry vegetable oils and high-boiling mineral oils. They are used to make bright and fast-curing inks for glue and lead printing systems. Since synthetic resin and mineral oil are used in the binder, the quality of the ink has been greatly improved, which not only makes the ink transfer and transfer performance good during printing, but also makes the printed product dots clear and complete, fast fixation, large gloss, bright colors, and strong ink film, So that the quality of the ink has undergone a qualitative change. At present, resin-based connecting materials have almost expanded to all areas of glue and lead printing inks.
(3) Solvent-based binder
The solvent-based binder is mainly composed of resin and organic solvent, and basically does not contain vegetable oil. They are used in photocopy intaglio and flexographic printing inks and belong to the volatile drying type.
(4) Water type connecting material
In recent years, in order to minimize environmental pollution due to the volatilization of organic solvents, regardless of paint or ink, domestic and foreign attention has been paid to the development of varieties that use water as the dispersion medium to form water-type binders, which must be matched with specific resins. Water-based latex coatings are very mature, while water-based printing inks are still under development.
