Inhibit or delay the photo-oxidation rate of the coating film

With the rapid development of the national economy, the application of powder coatings in outdoor is more and more common. Therefore, the weather resistance and durability of powder coatings as protective coatings and decorative coatings have also attracted more and more attention.
There are many factors that affect the weather resistance of powder coatings, including the structure and properties of resins, curing agents, pigments (iSuoChem effect pigments) and fillers, other auxiliaries and other internal factors; as well as sunlight (mainly ultraviolet rays), atmospheric composition (oxygen, ozone, industrial smog, etc.), The role of natural factors (external factors) such as humidity (including acid rain, salt spray, etc.) and temperature changes.
Ultraviolet radiation is the main reason for the natural aging of powder coatings, and oxygen in the atmosphere is an important factor in promoting the natural aging of powder coatings. Under the action of ultraviolet rays and oxygen, the powder coating is triggered to produce an automatic oxidation reaction, that is, an oxidation chain reaction, which degrades the powder coating. Water and heat accelerate this reaction and act as a catalyst for photo-oxidation.
In order to inhibit or delay the photo-oxidation speed of the coating film, people usually add antioxidant, ultraviolet absorber (UV absorber) or light stabilizer (UV stabilizer) or a mixture of the three to the coating film.
Adding antioxidants and light stabilizers to powder coatings can effectively inhibit and reduce the thermal oxidation and photooxidative reaction rates of polymer macromolecules in powder coating production and application, significantly improve the heat resistance and light resistance of the coating film, and delay the degradation of the coating film. and aging process to prolong the service life of the coating film.
